Saturday

After losing the Betfair hurdle meeting at Newbury last Saturday due to Equine Influenza, this Saturday we have a feast of top class racing with Ascot hosting a 9 race card with a couple of last weeks feature races added to their card. We also have the Grand National trial from Haydock as well as the Rendlesham Hurdle on a day packed with Cheltenham festival trials.

As well as the main feature races from Asot and Haydock there is a supporting card from Wincanton with 8 races including the grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle, plus 2 AW cards from Lingfield and Kempton. It’s fair to say the disappointment of last weeks cancellations are well behind us with a bit of something for everyone to get involved with. For me this high class jumps racing is great to watch but not much of an attraction when it comes to having a bet.

With Cheltenham (there are other Festivals available too) on the horizon it will be an interesting weekends racing with plenty of impact on Ante-Post markets with the likes of Waiting Patiently running. For me the Grand National trial at Haydock as well as the Pertemps quailifiers are far more my kind of racing and I will be watching those races with a close eye looking for those with other races in mind. For me todays best bet runs in the very last race of the day with a very strong fancy for the nap provided he can avoid trouble in running.

Whatever you are backing today enjoy the racing and remember stay disciplined.

Good Luck
Gary
